Boadicea has heads turning with Green Sapphire

Ever since a bejewelled Queen Boadicea rode her war chariot, gemstones have been surrounded by legends of their mystical properties. It’s from this ancient knowledge that we have drawn the inspiration for Green Sapphire, our newest luxury fragrance.

Sparkling in its brilliance and bewitching in its mysterious colour, green sapphire is soothing to the eyes and known as a stone of tranquility. It is said to bring wisdom, fidelity, and integrity to life, honouring loyalty and trust – stirring compassion and an understanding of the unique qualities of others.

Just like our hugely popular Blue Sapphire and Amber Sapphire fragrances, the gold plated shield on our iconic Boadicea the Victorious flagon is studded with a genuine green sapphire.

However, it is not only the appearance that will bewitch the wearer. The fragrance has been designed to match the mystical properties of the gem, providing an oriental woody scent.

Top notes of raspberry, violet leaves, and saffron give way to an enchanting bucolic feel of pine needles and Cashmeran, before a base including Atlas cedarwood and Indianan sandalwood further stirs the senses.

Green Sapphire goes on sale at Harrods in May, and the launch is being celebrated with a special window display on the Brompton Road joining the iconic store’s theme for the month of “whatever the weather”, anticipating the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Inspired by the concept of garden, the theme of pine and violet flowers are being used to surround a traditional gardener’s tricycle, bringing a nostalgic glimpse of Victorian gardens – a place of tranquility for a beautiful and inspiring scent.
